Earthquake’s IWS Stereo Balanced In-Wall Preamp packs flexibility, power, and control into one small, discrete package. The IWS was designed to receive an input signal from the front panel 3.5 mm line input and transport it to the BTA-250 (sold separately) for amplification via CAT5/6 ethernet cable. Through the use of a Cat 5/6 cable, the IWS will utilize Earthquake’s HVBT (High Voltage Balanced Transport™) to transport power and balanced signal over Ethernet, making the BTA-250 virtually immune to input signal noise.
The IWS can be powered by a CP2425 12–24VDC power supply (sold separately) that can either be plugged directly into the front panel or hardwired to the Phoenix connector located on the back of the unit. Designed to fit into most standard single-gang junction boxes, the IWS in-wall pre-amp can be easily installed into any new or preexisting construction (homes, bars, restaurants, garages, hotel rooms, offices, etc.). It will make listening to your favorite music or movies in any room possible.
For home installations, the IWS is designed to work with the BTA-250 in-wall amplifier and is a great multi-zone audio solution for garages, workshops, sheds, and even around hot tubs and pool areas. Wherever you need to add an audio zone, the IWS can transport power and signal through Ethernet, giving you a noise-free audio experience of up to 200 feet. This gives the home audio installer or integrator a multitude of options when planning out a whole home audio system.
Note: Earthquake uses a proprietary CAT 5/6 port configuration and is available upon request.
