MADE IN THE USA!!!
  • A virtual wall of Sound
  • SonaWall engineering proudly introduces an amazing audio experience with the Sonapod dual reflecting 2.2 system. Without installing anything on the video/listening wall, a tight, focused center image is produced for the key centered listener. All other listeners experience a wall of sound. Projection is the secret to this performance. SonaWall research has determined that it is possible to simulate a wall of sound with dual reflecting point sources.
  • Although this at first appears to be too simple to be true - experience proves otherwise. To a stunning degree this goal has been achieved. A relatively unbroken wall expanse is the primary requirement besides having corners close enough to allow a reasonable stereo triangulation. This system will be compatible with many if not most rooms. The projection process constructs a sound-based virtual audio image in a manner highly compatible with a video display. Only a special pair of sculptured compound-angled, point-source sound projectors linked to a low-frequency corner mounted woofer is required. In-wall at the corner or external in-corner woofer cabinets may be selected. A one-wavelength crossover frequency links the projectors to the bass enclosures and the corner-mount links the bass to the room as a whole.
  • Elementary but Exemplary
  • A superb full-range mini speaker is the simplest and arguably the best way to provide the key projection function. This audio source can then be enlarged by acoustic reflection and distributed on the wall without losing focus. One caveat - good coherent recordings are displayed marvelously whereas ping-pong and other less well-recorded media are audibly less refined. A sculptured corner-adapted enclosure module houses the super two-inch full-range driver. A one-inch voice coil divides the radiating area into two zones. The central hard-dome is driven directly as is the outer curved portion. Dispersion by this one-inch dome is fully competitive with dome tweeters and response is beyond twenty kilohertz. Proprietary treatment of both vibrating surfaces optimizes the response over the entire two hundred to twenty thousand hertz range. Internal protection insures safe playback and loudly so in most rooms.
  • Flexibility
  • Numerous accents and a center speaker can also be added to further center the image for off-axis listeners. This optional center speaker is a compound array of two modules which are connectable in parallel to the main corner modules. An integrating adjustable crossover for surround modules can also optionally be used in the rear to even further distribute the sound. This choice depends on the number of listeners. The extra speakers can be muted for a solo projection experience and the other modules can be dialed-in for a larger group of people. All of this can be done with just two channels. Optionally directly driving the modules as separate channels can be done using additional integrating adjustable crossovers.
  • Bass
  • Bass response has a tight deep quality superior to the shaking noises that most powered subwoofers provide in many installations. These modest 6.5 woofers may at first appear to be too diminutive to fulfill the bass requirements. Full response from about 30 hertz is provided however. The relatively non-musical 20~30 hertz range is not reproduced in full certainly but this could be added transparently if desired with a powered sub - but now only at the most extreme low-frequency end. A crossover at an extremely low 40 hertz could be employed if subsonic effects are desired. Such a low crossover frequency can allow the projection system to operate uncorrupted due to the low crossover frequency.
  • Discover it
  • The Sonapod dual reflecting 2.2 system concept pivots on using the corners constructively rather than installing speakers in a room grouped around the listener and display, only to battle with room acoustics and provide a limited listening experience. The Sonapod dual reflecting 2.2 system uses the room to enhance driver performance dramatically and no conflict with room acoustics occurs. The reason this less-is-more system concept has not been seen is perhaps that the drive to sell more elements overruled engineering logic.
